Sitting by the nice warm fire, everyone in bed, it’s quiet and the snow is gently falling outside. I finally get out my laptop and write another Monday blog post, but tonight is different. I do not hear a clear word from the Lord, I have no “ah-ha” moments, or analogies, I just have a Merry Christmas.
I hope this year has brought you times of peace and rest, times of joy and laughter and times that will be a forever wonderful memory in your mind. I love that Christmas comes right before a New Year. This truly is a season of closing the year with celebration, hope, and joy. To reflect on the greatest gift ever given, Jesus and remember to walk this world with gratefulness and forgiveness, no matter what the cost or situation we face.
Even though I have a few presents under the tree still to be opened, without a doubt the best gift I received this Christmas is singing with my boys during The Sounds of Christmas, at my parent’s church. George was on my right and Oliver on my left. Their little voices ringing through the sanctuary was almost too much for this mama to get through the song. Since I was a little girl, I loved the movie, The Sound of Music. I felt tonight I lived my Fraulein Maria dream. Singing with my children while they were gathered around me at the piano. It’s the little things that make the big dreams…
Whatever your Christmas brings you, may the God of all hope, joy and peace fill you with His great presence. May you be a believer in miracles, and not just the ones that happen on 34th street, but the ones that can only come from the Powerful, Wonderworking God. Dream new dreams and be thankful for the dreams that have come to pass. Keep loving the unlovable, keep on spreading joy and cheer wherever you go. Enjoy these next few days leading up to Christmas. Hug your family, put down your electronics and enjoy the moments with the special people around you. Think upon The Savior and His greatest gift ever given, His one and only son all in the name of love.
And Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas now.
