Throughout the week, I pray, think, and I ponder, “what will I write next Monday?” God has been so faithful to give me ideas and different thoughts to write on, but today looks different. Today, I felt the Lord prompt me to write about what is on His heart. As I was praying and seeking Him, this is what He showed me.
I felt the Lord’s heart for this season and the body of believers. I saw sand falling between the cracks of the rocks and the ground and it was very dry. I heard the words, shifting sands. People use the phrase, “shifting sand” when referring to constant change. Sometimes this change can be difficult as it ushers a sense of being unstable or unpredictable. I felt the Lord continue to show me that there is a season of shifting, moving, and changing that is happening to the body of Christ. All the sand that the Lord showed me that was overwhelmed by the shifting was falling between the cracks, but the sand that was laying on the rock, was perfectly still. This is a time that we need to know who our creator is and to stand firm on His rock. When your feet are firmly planted on The Rock, there is no need to fear. When your feet are planted firmly on The Rock, there is nothing you need to hide from, and when your feet are firmly planted on The Rock, when shifting comes, you will not fall.
I felt for the past few weeks the Lord revealing His heart for His people to KNOW Him. Growing up, I sang a song in church that went, “to know Him, to know Him, is the cry of my heart. Spirit, reveal Him to me. To hear what He’s saying brings life to my bones, to know Him to know Him alone.” This song is ringing in my ears as the Lord says, “as sands are shifting your understanding of me is growing.” The Lord is not the author of confusion, and God revealed to me that in all the moving and distracting parts, your knowledge of Him will be the fuel to get you through. While studying in Revelations, there were three times that the 24 elders would fall to the ground worshipping God as their creator, redeemer, and Judge and King over all the earth. This act of worship was out of the knowledge of who God is and the response to His mighty power, works and redemption. This knowledge caused the elders to fall down before the throne of God and worship Him.
Listen to the Lord as He will give you increase in your knowledge of Him. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit.” Hebrews 4:12. His word is alive, and He will reveal things about Himself to you. Walk in obedience and stand firm on Christ The Solid Rock. The shifting will not make you fall between the cracks, a new strength is rising, and your understanding of who God is will keep your feet planted firmly. In this season draw close to Him and He will be near.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2
